What are bus rides for?
Do you enjoy bus rides?
How often do you take the bus? I have always enjoyed walking. But I am also one of those people who won't say no to a bus ride. I enjoy them too. Lately, I have been thinking what more are bus rides for rather than just bus rides. Here, I will tell you what bus rides are for me...
On some bus rides, you are lucky enough to get a seat. On some bus rides, you are even more lucky to get a window seat. On some days, you get the front row passenger seat. On days like those, you will lean back and watch the world change around you; the sun will blaze and burn your knee and sometimes also blind you but you will seek comfort in the head rest and the soft breeze touching your cheeks.
On some bus rides, you will have enough space to fit your feet. The rest of you won't even feel like yours. Someone else's leg is always touching yours. Someone else's bags are attached to you like they are yours. On rides like these, I don't hold on to the railings on the ceiling of the bus because they are either too far away or there is no room for my hand or there are enough people around me to make sure I won't fall head first on the floor.
On some bus rides, you will watch the world outside pass by through a blanket of dust. On some bus rides, you will watch how two wheelers try to escape past puddles. On some bus rides, you will watch the world outside bath in the downpour and do your happy dance for having got on the bus in time. On some bus rides, you will watch the evening sun and let out a sigh for having gone through a day like that.
On some bus rides, you will watch every rain droplet trickle down to the window pane and catch your heart breaking a little. On days like that, maybe you will let out a few tears or choose to stay away from the judgements. On some bus rides, you will rest your head, close your eyes and take a deep breath as you eagerly wait for the warmth of home. On some bus rides, you are way too anxious to be on time that spend the whole ride checking the time.
On some bus rides, you will have your favorite song on more than a little too loud. On some bus rides, you will have your head bent on the book you haven't finished for weeks. On some bus rides, you will be typing furiously at your phone- texting that one friend who just doesn't get it. On some bus rides, you will be telling your mother that you will be home in fifty minutes because the traffic is crazy. On some bus rides, you will watch your favorite café pass by and suddenly crave for coffee.
On some bus rides, you will rest your head on your friend's shoulder and talk about the world and life. On some bus rides, a fellow passenger will talk to you about politics and traffic and the weather. On some bus rides, you will hate the road and just want to go home. On some bus rides, you won't even be thinking- because it's just routine.
On some bus rides, you will sit like me trying to write about "things you do on bus rides".
